He also servied as superintendent of the Arizona Pioneers' Home during Gov. Howard Pyle's administration. He came to Arizona for health reasons. Was survived by his son, William, of Phoenix; a brother, Lloyd of Metchgen, New Jersey and two grandchildren. Cremation followed the funeral services held at the Ruffner Funeral Home.
